1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vac uum to date. Its biggest innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often slough through). It's also the first robot to automatically send you photos of the object it comes across to let you know to stay clear of it in the future.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and it can be difficult to determine if they are functioning until you actually witness them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best choice is probably one that is a hybrid. These robots come with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. These bots also come with many additional features such as smart mapping and small object avoidance and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they can be expensive at retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.
Roborock is one of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and while it doesn't have some of the premium features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save a few hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an excellent option for homes with many furniture pieces. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a place which many robot vacuums can really fall short. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses along walls and in corners.
Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. With the app you can start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map, or change the labels of rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is easy. It also features a large LCD display which is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't a necessary feature for most people however it can assist you in keeping track of your robot's maintenance intervals easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly intelligent in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and functionality are some of the most advanced available - but it's also pricey.
The base station is attractive and hides it when not in use, and its dimensions are quite small. The station's main selling point is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions, and chores that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. The majority of other robots require you to perform this.
Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tested that do a really good job of picking up debris on unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren’t as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means that it can get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the home. It's not able navigate stairs as well as competitors, for instance and doesn't come with a dock that allows you to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets that are soft.
While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning configuration options in its app, or as many in-app shortcuts as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for a comprehensive robot vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price tag.
If you're looking to save some cash or don't want to think about the limitations of this machine there are many other great choices on the market which include a variety of eufy models for substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance, is cheaper and offers the same experience in the app, but with more features, including stair climbing, a full-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.

Eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpet flooring, and a mopping function for a low cost. It's easy to set up, just attach one of the side brush and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps required to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock will need to be located near an outlet with enough space to move.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact It will fit under many sofas and other furniture with low clearance. The design is less flashy than some of the rival models, sporting sleek black finishes and three physical buttons that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs a space in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The way in which the G30 cleans is what separates it from other models. It uses an integrated map to make an image of the immovable objects in its path. It remembers the things it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning where it left off.
The elegant G30 has some flaws. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, has similar battery life and performs better on unfinished flooring or carpet with a low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require to be empty as often and comes with the boundary strips to keep it away from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and it has less trouble with heavy materials such as cereal.
